Discussions
Discussion areas allow you make public comments for others to
read and possibly reply with a Follow Up message if they have
something relevant to add. Others might then reply to your
original message or one of the Follow Ups to your original
message. A message and all the Follow Up replies related to it
is often referred to as a message thread.
Menu Area
The commands on the Menu bar allow you to navigate the
discussion area. The Create New Message command scrolls
the window to the "Post A Message" area of the
Discussion page. The Help command displays this page.
Messages
The Messages area of the Discussion page contains a list of
messages that have been posted to this discussion and any
Follow Up replies that have been made to that message. In
order to read a message or a Follow Up reply click on one of
the underlined messages.
Post A Message
The Post A Message area of the Discussion page is where you
enter the message you want to post. In order to post a new
message fill out the fields of the form and click the Post
Message button in order to send it. You will be notified when
your message has been received and added to the discussion.
You will be given a chance to either read the newly created
message or return to the Discussion Page. If you return
to the Discussion page you will notice that your message has
been added and as such a new thread has been started.
Name is you name or call name.
E-Mail is your e-mail address.
This field is optional if you don't want anyone to know it
leave it empty.
Subject is the title of the message. This is
what the message will be listed by in the Discussion page.
Message is where you type in
the message.
Optional Link URL is where you
can enter the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of a web page you
would like to include as a hyperlink in the message. A URL
refers to a server and page on your intranet or internet.
Link Title is the underlined
text that will be placed in the message to refer to the Link
URL. This is the name of the Hyper Link.
Optional Image URL is where
you can enter the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of a graphic
you would like to include in the message. A URL refers to a
server and page on your intranet or internet.
